Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Monday condemned the incident of the removal of innerwear of a girl before entering the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) examination centre at Ayoor in Kollam.

In a statement here, the Minister said a detailed probe is being conducted on the basis of the complaint filed before the Kottatakkara Police by the girl's father.

The father complained that the girl was asked to remove her underwear before entering the exam hall, police sources said.

The hook of inners were detected by the metal detector, so they were asked to remove their innerwear, he said.

Her father alleged that several girls experienced such harassment before sitting for the exam. They were asked to dump their innerwear in a store room there, he claimed.

Earlier, State Higher Education Minister Dr R Bindu said the issue will be raised with the Centre to put an end to such harassments in connection with the NEET Examination in the country.

However, the college authorities who denied the allegations, clarified that they were just following the strict guidelines in connection with the exam.
