Kerala CM Vijayan likely to visit listing Ceremony of KIIFB Masala Bonds in London Stock Exchange on May 17

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 8 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is expected to visit the listing ceremony of KIIFB Masala Bonds in Lodon Stock Exchange on May 17.

An invitation to this effect was sent to Mr Vijayan by London Stock Exchange.

Sources said the Chief Minister's office will approach the Union Government soon to get clearance for the visit of the Chief Minister to London Stock Exchange.

If the Centre gives clearance, it will be the first time that a Chief Minister from India will take part in the listing ceremony of London Stock Exchange.

The Rs 2150 crore Masala Bonds of State-Government controlled Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) will be listened in the International Securities Market.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala sharply criticised the fund raising through KIIFB alleging that enough indications are there to prove a direct link between Canadian Pension Fund (CDPQ) and scam-tainted SNC Lavalin.

He also alleged that SNC Lavalin was involved in a hydroelectric scandal in Kerala in 1995 when Mr Pinarayi Vijayan was the Electricity Minister in the E K Nayanar Government.
