Kejriwal's AAP to support BJP in 2019 if Delhi is granted full statehood

New Delhi, June 11 (IBNS); Giving a hint that his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) might campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said he is ready to do so in case Delhi is granted full statehood ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls next year.

Kejriwal was quoted as saying by news agency ANI: "I want to tell BJP that if before 2019 Elections, Delhi is granted statehood. we'll make sure that each & every vote from Delhi goes in your favour, we'll campaign for you. If you don't do so Delhi residents will put up boards saying 'BJP leave Delhi'."

Kejriwal made the remarks while addressing a special session of the Delhi Assembly.

The AAP has been demanding for full statehood of Delhi for quite sometime now.

"Delhi Vidhan Sabha unanimously accepts the resolution on Full Statehood for Delhi," the AAP tweeted.

Kejriwal has been a staunch rival of the BJP.

In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kejriwal had contested against Modi from Varanasi seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Modi had defeated the AAP supremo in the polls.
