Kejriwal raps 'some' media houses for supporting surge pricing

New Delhi, Apr 20 (IBNS) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday lashed out at 'some' media houses for supporting surge pricing, stating that one of them has a huge share in one of the companies.

"Some media houses supporting surge pricing. One of these media houses has Rs 150 cr investment in one of these taxi aggregators," the Delhi CM tweeted.

Kejriwal, who had earlier warned taxi providers Ola and Uber over surge charging, promising strict action, said that it is a day light robbery and no government can allow it.

"Surge pricing is daylight robbery. No responsible govt can allow that. Some taxis saying they will not provide cab if they are not allowed to loot. This is open blackmailing n govt will not let that happen," Kejriwal said.

The Delhi CM however said that he is not against taxi companies but they will have to abide by laws or bear the wrath.

"We are not against taxi aggregators. We fully support them. They provide imp service to people. But they will have to follow law. Overcharging, diesel cars, drivers without license/badges n blackmailing by taxi aggregators won't be allwed," he said.
