Kashmir: Village headman die of electrocution in Badgam

Srinagar, Jun 25 (UNI) A village lumbardar died due to electrocution I the central Kashmir district of Badgam’s Beerwah on Tuesday, official sources said.

Twenty-five-year-old Shabir Ahmad Malik, resident of Mochan Beerwah was trying to repair a faulty transformer in the area when he got in contact with a live wire and was critically injured.

Malik was immediately rushed to local hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings.

Meanwhile, local who protested alleged that despite repeated requests the Power Development Department (PDD) failed to repair the faulty transformer.
