Srinagar/UNI: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a 'Hybrid militant' of Lashkar-e-Taiba ( LeT) in Baramulla district.

The police said that at around 4 PM on Tuesday, joint parties of police and Army's 52 RR were conducting Naka checking near Juhama crossing, during which, the party observed suspicious movement of one unknown person who was coming towards Kanispora.

On seeing the naka party, the individual tried to flee from the spot. However, he was apprehended.

On being questioned the accused was identified as Shahid Ahmad Parray, a resident of Kathpora Hajin, in north Kashmir's Bandipora district.

During the search, one pistol, a magazine and two hand grenades were recovered from him, the police said.

The individual failed to justify the possession of these arms and ammunition.

In fact, the terrorist informed he obtained these illegal arms with an intent to carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla town and its adjacent areas, police said and added the militant on further interrogation disclosed that he was working as a hybrid militant for banned outfit LeT.
