Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti pays floral tributes to slain Yatris

Srinagar, Jul 11 (IBNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday paid homage to the Amarnath pilgrims killed in a militant attack near Botengo, Anantnag on Monday evening.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by her cabinet ministers and officials as they reached the Srinagar airport and paid floral tributes.

“Expressing deep anguish over the massacre, the Chief Minister said this  act of violence has "shaken the edifice of Kashmiri ethos and culture."

"People across the board have condemned this gory act”, said an official statement quoting Mehbooba Mufti

Earlier,  Mufti along with Deputy Chief Minister  Nirmal Singh visited the injured pilgrims at Srinagar and Anantnag hospitals and directed the hospital authorities to ensure best possible care for  them.

The Chief Minister herself supervised the rescue and relief operations throughout the night at Anantnag. She visited the injured and stranded Yatris and assured them all help from the State Government.
