Chennai, Aug 6 (IBNS): Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's health condition has further declined on Monday, the latest bulletin released by Kauvery Hospital stated.

Karunanidhi's health condition improved last week but according to the latest medical bulletin, keeping up the functioning of the vital organs has become a challenge for the doctors treating him.

Karunanidhi is undergoing treatment in a Chennai hospital since last month.

He is 94.

The doctors also said the next 24 hours are crucial for Karunanidhi's health.

The veteran politician is suffering from urinary tract infection.

He was admitted to hospital on July 18 for a change of tracheostomy tube, said reports.

Several important personalities and political leaders including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan visited the five times Tamil Nadu Chief Minister recently.
