Karan Johar's Dharma Production asked to apologise for littering in Goa
Panaji/IBNS: The Goa government on Wednesday asked filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions to apologise for littering at a village in the state, or pay a fine, said media reports.
According to media reports, residents of Nerul in North Goa uploaded videos showing the waste which had been left by the crew of an upcoming Deepika Padukone-starrer film after shooting finished last week.
The video went viral on social media after which the state-run Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) took note of the incident and issued a show-cause notice to the lines producer hired by Dharma Productions, said media reports.
Goa's Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo said the director or owners of Dharma Productions should apologise to the people of the state for littering the village and leaving the place without cleaning.
The lines producer Dilip Borkar hired by Dharma Productions said the movie was shot in a villa in Nerul. The garbage was collected and disposed at a place designated by the local panchayat except on Sundays.
Borkar said the videos were made while the garbage was lying for clearing the next day and uploaded on social media.
