Kamal Hassan meets Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 25 (IBNS): Actor-turned-politician Kamal Hassan on Monday visited Kolkata and met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat Nabanna.

Kamal is the founder of the political outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam.

"Our relationship with the honourable CM is quite old and I am coming to take my best wishes from her like last time," the southern superstar was quoted as saying by News 18.

The meeting took place ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Kamal Hassan told reporters: "The meeting was excellent."

The seven-phased Lok Sabha polls is all set to begin from Apr 11.

Voting for the polls is scheduled to end on May 19.

Counting of votes will be held on May 23.
