J&K: 139.04 acres of defence land at Tattoo Ground in Batamaloo to be developed for tourism

Around 139.04 acres of defence land at Tattoo Ground in Batamaloo is set to be developed for tourism and other related activities, stated press release from the Raj Bhawan in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Ministry of Defence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Home Affairs for the transfer of this land, ANI reports.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the MoU signing ceremony and expressed his excitement about the development of major tourism space in J&K. The land will be handed over by the Ministry of Defence within 120 days.

The Lt Governor also discussed the 'Mera Mati Mera Desh' campaign with senior Army officers, along with preparations for Independence Day events.
