Jharkhand polls: Bumper voting in Santhal Pargana with 71.17 pct voter turnout

Ranchi/UNI: A heavy turnout of 71.17 per cent has been recorded in the fifth and final phase of elections in 16 seats of Santhal Pargana division leading to the culmination of the Assembly polls in Jharkhand.

However, when compared to the 2014 assembly elections the voting age in the fifth phase has dipped by 2.14 per cent. In 2014 the average voter turnout in these 16 seats was 73.31 per cent.

Polling on Borio, Barhet, Littipada, Maheshpur and Shikaripada came to an end at  3 PM while in the remaining 11 seats, it ended at 5 PM.

Among the constituencies, Nala has recorded the maximum voter turnout of 78.01 per cent while Dumka has recorded minimum voter turnout of 59.73 per cent.

Constituency wise the polling percentage is as following: Rajmahal 71.19 per cent, Borio (ST) 71.58 per cent, Barhet (ST) 70.07 per cent, Littipada (ST) 70.07 per cent, Pakur 76.1 per cent, Maheshpur (ST) 74.81 per cent, Shikaripada (ST) 73.25 per cent, Nala 78.01 per cent, Jamtara 74.77 per cent, Dumka (ST) 59.73 per cent, Jama (ST) 65.27 per cent, Jarmundi 71.53 per cent, Sarath 75.97 per cent, Poriyahaat 69.61 per cent, Godda 68.54 per cent and Mahgama 67.23 per cent.
