Jamnagar: BJP MP injures herself after falling into a drain

Jamnagar, Gujarat, May 17 (IBNS) Poonam Madam, a BJP parliamentarian from Jamnagar, injured herself on Monday, after a thin crust covering a drain over which she was standing cracked and caved in, reports said.

Madam was meeting slum dwellers who were out protesting a demolition drive by the local civic body, when the incident took place.

Reports stated that she fell into a eight-foot-deep drain, injuring her head, shoulders and limbs.

After being rushed to a clinic, she received several stitches and was taken to Mumbai for further check up.
