Jammu&Kasmir/IBNS: Baramulla district's international tourist resort, Gulmarg, is gearing up to host delegates from the G-20 nations at the end of May 2023.

The district administration is working diligently to finalize all arrangements and transform the area with a strict security plan for this high-profile event, reported The Global Kashmir.

This historic gathering is expected to have a significant impact on the region, and there will be no restrictions on schools, colleges, or markets. Traffic on all routes will continue to operate as usual, with a traffic advisory set to be issued in advance to aid the foreign delegates.

Welcome boards and signages have already been erected in Gulmarg, and the Narbal-Gulmarg road stretch is undergoing a complete renovation.

Footpaths and medians are being developed, traffic roads are being furnished, and hoardings are being installed to enhance the aesthetic value of the existing structures.

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, is supervising all the developmental and beautification works. Dr Sehrish has stated that the preparations are in their final stages, and the stage is set for the event.

She has also urged all departments to work in a double shift and ensure that all existing works are completed in a timely manner.

Dr Sehrish emphasized the importance of coordination and synergy among the line departments to ensure the timely completion of developmental activities in Baramulla.

The DDC has also issued instructions to concerned authorities to undertake grass cutting along roads, routes, and footpaths, closing manholes with lids, coloring iron grills, making water fountains functional, ensuring smooth operation of street lights, and removing debris and construction material from roads to enhance the aesthetics of the establishments.
