Jammu and Kashmir: Traffic policeman hurt as terrorists attack him in Srinagar

Srinagar: A traffic policeman was injured as suspected terrorists fired upon him in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar city on Wednesday.

The injured person was identified as Mohammad Abdullah.

He was fired upon near Gani Memorial Stadium in the old city.

"He was rushed to a nearby hospital," officials told UNI.

The area has been cordoned off.

Security officials rushed to the spot after the incident.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted: "#Terrorists fired upon & #injured a traffic police personnel who was busy in regulating traffic at Rajouri Kadal, #Srinagar. He has been shifted to hospital. Area has been #cordoned off. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice."
