Jammu and Kashmir: Notification issued for vacant seats of Sarpanches, Panches in Kupwara

Srinagar: Pursuant to notifications for conduct of District Development Council and by-election Panchayat elections, public notices for three constituencies of.

Kalaroos, Kralpora and Tangdar in district Kupwarawere issued today for the first phase and simultaneously public notices were also issued for vacant seats of eightSarpanch and seventy ninePanch seats falling in these constituencies, a press statement said.

As per the notification, the last date for submission of nomination forms is November 12; while scrutiny of nomination papers shall be held on November 13.

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 16. 28th November has been announced as the election date for the first phase with polling time from 7 A.M to 2 P.M.

The counting for the Sarpanch and Panch seats shall be held on the same day i.e. November 28. The date of counting of votes for DDCs has been fixed as December 22.

As per data issued by District Election Officer Kupwara, 167 polling stations have been established which include 70 in Kalaroos, 46 in Kralpora and 51 in Tangdar. As many as 505 Presiding and Polling Officers have been appointed for these constituencies.
