Jammu and Kashmir: Non-local labourer arrested for raping woman in Shopian

Srinagar/UNI: A non-local labourer, a resident of Punjab, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman in south Kashmir district of Shopain, official sources said here on Saturday.

They said a compliant was received by Police Station Keller in Shopain that a woman was raped by a labourer, identified as Gagan Deep Shukla, a resident of Samrai in Jalandhar, Punjab.

“An FIR number 73/2020 under section 376, 506, 452 IPC was registered and the accused was taken into custody on Friday,” they said.

They said further investigation into the allegation is going on and the accused is being questioned.
