Jammu and Kashmir: Man held for stabbing his son in Srinagar

Srinagar: Police arrested a man, who allegedly made an attempt to murder his son by stabbing him in Srinagar on Wednesday.

The accused was identified as Mehmood Ahmad Wani, a resident of Sonwar Srinagar.

He was arrested for attempting to murder his son following an argument that led to stabbing, police said.

The weapon of offence was also recovered, police added.

The victim has been hospitalised where his condition is stated to be stable.

A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered in Ram Munshi Bagh police Station.

“One Mehmood Ahmad wani S/o Nazir wani R/o Sonwar Srinagar arrested for attempting to murder his son. He had an argument which led to stabbing. Victim is in hospital & stable. FIR no 121/ 2023 u/s 307 of IPC registered in Ram Munshi Bagh PS. Weapon of offence also recovered,” Srinagar police tweeted.
