Jammu and Kashmir: Hurriyat chairman put under house arrest in Srinagar
Srinagar, Jun 22 (UNI) Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq on Saturday was put under house arrest in Srinagar, official sources said.
However, it was not immediately clear why restrictions were imposed on him, they said.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the HC said that state police and CRPF personnel had been deployed outside his house.
Later, Farooq was informed that he cannot leave till further orders, he added.
