Jammu and Kashmir: Grenade explosions rock Srinagar, Shopian, no casualty

Srinagar, Jan 18 (IBNS): Two grenade explosions rocked Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar city, on Friday, police said.

While one grenade explosion was reported from Srinagar, the other incident occurred in Shopian, police said.

In Srinagar, the grenade explosion occurred at the Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk area in Srinagar city.

On the other hand, the grenade was lobbed by attackers at a police camp in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian area, reports said.

Police have reached the spots.

An investigation into the incidents have started.

No casualty has been reported so far.

Kashmir Police Zone tweeted: "Two incidents of #grenade attack by #terrorists; one in #Srinagar & other in #Shopian. #Police is at the spot. Investigation in both incidents is going on. No loss of life or property reported. @JmuKmrPolice."

It is still not clear who might be behind the explosions.
