Jammu and Kashmir: Chief Secretary inaugurates Srinagar Sports Club

Srinagar: Chief Secretary J&K, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta on Saturday inaugurated a multi-purpose sports facility centre, Srinagar Sports Club at Sher-i- Kashmir Indoor complex here.

The multipurpose facility centre, Srinagar Sports Club is first of its kind, all in one sports facility for Billiards, Snooker, Chess , Carrom, Table Tennis, Yoga, Sports Library and Nutrition and entrepreneurship in J&K.

On the occasion Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta was accompanied by Secretary Tourism and Culture Sarmad Hafeez, Director Tourism Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo, Director Youth Services and Sports, Gazanfar Ali and Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gull besides other officials and officers.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Mehta while appreciating the efforts of J&K sports council said, "The initiative is aimed towards bringing the athletes under one roof for developing the healthy ecosystem and club shall go a long way in fostering the bonds between athletes of varied backgrounds and thus pave way for overall development of youth of J&K."

He also added that during winter the club and adjoining stadium shall become hub of sports and youth activities and therefore add colour to the drab settings.
