Nashik/UNI: Indian Army jawan Kuldeep Nandkishor Jadhav (25), who hailed from Satana tehsil of the district, died due to the cold weather condition while on duty in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday.

On Sunday, District Army officer Aunkar Kapale confirmed the news of Mr Jadhav's death and said that his body would arrive in Mumbai on Monday (November 23) morning at around 2200 hours.

He is survived by his eight-day-old son, wife, parents and a brother.

Jadhav, who was stationed on the Indian border along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, was to take leave from Sunday and return home to his native village of Pingalwade in Satana tehsil to see his new-born baby.

He had also spoken to his family on the phone a few days ago, however, his wish to see his child could not be fulfilled.

After joining the Army four years ago, Mr Jadhav was posted with 508 AC Battalion in Leh area of Jammu & Kashmir. Due to the cold wave, he died while staying at the army camp during the journey. He could not wake up in the morning, it was stated.
