Jammu: At least eight passengers suffered injuries when a bus they were traveling in lost control due to tyre burst and hit the parapet along Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district.

Police sources said that a bus on its way from Doda towards Jammu in the evening met with an accident at Sail Sallan on the National Highway, Udhampur.

"The driver lost its control on the vehicle when one of its tyre bursted with a bang and collided with a parapet," they added.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted injured persons to the hospital.

"Around eight passengers suffered minor injuries but are stable," police said.
