Jallikattu: Special session of TN Assmebly today, police suspect Naxal hands in protests
Meanwhile, TN Governor Vidyasagar Rao has assured that bill seeking to replace Jallikattu ordinance would be placed before state Assembly immediately, the media reported.
Violence erupted in various parts of Tamil Nadu, especially in Alanganallur in Madurai, on Monday, when police asked the Jallikattu protesters to disperse.
According to NDTV, the local police suspect that Naxal sympathisers may have been behind the violence. Police have detained 82 people after the protests turned violent on Monday.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was unable to inaugurate the Jallikattu ceremony in Madurai's Alanganallur during the weekend as locals continued to protest demanding a more strong solution than the Saturday's Ordinance, which cleared the way for the bull-taming sport to be held in the state, media reports said.
