It is not related to me: Mamata on Panja's arrest

Kolkata, Feb 22 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday moved herself away from the issue of arrest of entrepreneur Shibaji Panja, who had accompanied her to Bangladesh as part of the entourage.

When asked about his Bangladesh entourage member Panja's arrest, Banerjee told reporters: "There can be a case against a businessman."

"It (Panja's arrest) is not related to me at all," she said.

Kolkata- based businessman Shibaji Panja, who had accompanied West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to Bangladesh, was detained at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international airport after reaching the city from Dhaka.

He was arrested on Sunday. The Delhi Police had issued a look out circular (LOC) against Shibaji Panja on Feb 19  in connection with a financial crime in Delhi.

Panja was later produced in a local court which granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
