Israel welcomes Indian ministers and companies to Agritech 2018

New Delhi, May 7 (IBNS): The Embassy of Israel on Monday said it is happy to welcome Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister of State for Panchayati, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Parshottam Rupala, Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra, Pandurang Pundalik Fundkar, Senior Officials from the State of Punjab, as well as over 100 Indian company representatives to Agritech 2018 in Israel.

In all, over one thousand representatives from India will attend the two-day conference.


Agritech 2018 is the 20th conference on agricultural technologies taking place in Israel.

The conference, beginning on Tuesday, features speakers from Israel and around the world, sharing know-how, innovation and technology in agriculture and food processing.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions”, a topic relevant to large parts of India.

Ahead of the conference, Ambassador Daniel Carmon said, “Agriculture is one of the pillars of the Indo-Israel Growing Partnership, manifesting among others in MASHAV-MIDH centers of excellence of the Indo-Israeli Agricultural Project. We are proud to host such a prominent and large delegation from India in Agritech this year. We look forward to working with the Indian federal government and the governments of Haryana, Punjab and Maharashtra - as well as other states - to integrate relevant Israeli technology and innovation in the Indian agricultural ecosystem.”
