Iraq Minister not sure whether 39 missing Indians are alive

New Delhi, July 24 (IBNS): Iraq’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari on Monday said he was not sure whether 39 Indians, who went missing in Iraq, were alive.

The Minister was quoted as saying by meia: "I have no substantial evidence that they were killed or still alive."

He said the government was trying to trace them.

Ibrahim al-Jaafari is currently visiting India.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met him earlier.

"Welcome His Excellency Dr.Ibrahim al-Jaafari Foreign Minister of Iraq in New Delhi," Swaraj earlier tweeted.
