Infiltration bid foiled in Kashmir, 2 militants killed

Srinagar, May 26 (IBNS) The Army on Thursday said two militants were killed during an ongoing encounter at Naugam sector of Handwara in northern Kashmir's Kupwara district.

Army has intercepted a group of six militants near the Line of Control in Kupwara district, triggering an encounter.

According to sources, jawans of 35 Rashtriya Rifles intercepted militants at Toot Mari Gali (TMG) in Nowgam sector along LOC while making an infiltration bid, that resulted in a gun fight between the two sides.

Senior police official said at least two militants were killed while other militants are still holed up in the forests area and
operation in the dense bushes is still going on.
