Indian envoy reviews Kaladan Project operation in Myanmar

Indian envoy to Myanmar Abhay Thakur recently reviewed the progress of the Kaladan Project at the Sittwe Port in Myanmar's Rakhine province, officials said.

He reviewed the project on January 16 and January 17.

The port is a key component of the India-assisted Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Corridor (KMMTTC) Project, ANI reported quoting a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Myanmar.

Accompanied by officials from the Indian Embassy in Yangon, the Consulate General in Sittwe, and the India Ports Global Limited (IPGL), the envoy met local leadership and discussed bilateral issues.

The Indian Embassy in Myanmar posted on X: Amb @AmbAbhayThakur visited Sittwe Port of Kaladan Project, accompanied by MD IPGL, y'day, to review ongoing operations. He met CM Rakhine U Htein Lin to discuss local community support program & future growth in connectivity. Also met PIOs & visited cgisittwe premises."
