Kathmandu: An Indian climber died while ascending Mount Kanchenjunga on Thursday, media reports said.
He was identified as Narayanan Iyer from Maharashtra.
He breathed his last at 8,200m when he was heading for the summit point of the world's third highest peak, according to Pasang Sherpa, Chairman at Pioneer Adventure, reported The Himalayan Times.
Sherpa further added the incident occurred when the 52-year-old climber refused to descend even after he fell ill while ending the climb.
His climbing guide had repeatedly asked the climber to descend but Iyer refused to adhere to his call, Sherpa claimed.
