IB probe ordered over CCTV lapse during PM's Varanasi visit
New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Following reports, that the CCTV cameras were not working properly during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Varanasi, the Union Home Ministry has ordered a probe into the alleged security lapse, media reports said.
The responsibility of the probe has been entrusted on the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
The Ministry will also seek a report from the Uttar Pradesh government over the installation of CCTV cameras at Assi Ghat and whether they were tested ahead of Modi's visit.
Media reports suggested that several security cameras at the venue and even some monitors in the control room were not working while Mod visited Assi Ghat.
