I am a fan of Narendra Modi, says Elon Musk after meeting Indian PM in New York

New York: Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday met Narendra Modi and said he is a 'fan' of the Indian PM.

"He really wants to do the right thing for India. I am a fan of Modi. It was a fantastic meeting and I like him quite a lot," Musk told reporters following his meeting with the visiting Indian PM In New York.

This was Modi's first meeting with Musk since he became the owner of Twitter.

Speaking to reporters, Musk said: "PM Modi really cares about India because he is pushing us to make significant investments in India, which is something that we tend to do. We just have to figure out the right timing."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New York on Tuesday for a rare three-day state visit to the US, during which he is set to address the joint session of the US Congress and dine with President Biden.

The Prime Minister appreciated Musk’s efforts at making technology accessible and affordable in various sectors, read an official statement of the Indian PMO's office after the meeting.

The Prime Minister invited  Musk to explore opportunities in India for investments in electric mobility and rapidly expanding commercial space sector.
