New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): The husband of late Priya Mehra, who was allegedly shot dead by bike borne assailants on Tuesday night, has admitted to police about carrying out the crime himself, reports said.

During interrogation, the husband, identified as Pankaj, revealed that he had originally murdered his wife and later cooked up a story to implicate those who he owed money.

He had earlier told police that he was receiving death threats from a money lender who he owed Rs 40 lakh.

Pankaj also told police that he committed the crime as he wanted to get back to his ex-wife and thus shot his wife Priya while she was sleeping in the car.

Police are yet to recover the weapon Pankaj used to murder his wife.
