Hamirpur/UNI: Counting of votes for the Zila parishad and six block samitis of Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur started at six different places under tight security on Friday morning

Proper SOP is being followed during the process and the counting work has been going on at a fast pace, said an official spokesman.

There are 18 zila parishad wards and about 126 panchayat samiti wards where the counting work is to take place today.

He said that since ballot papers were to be counted, it might take some time more for the declaration of the results.

Reports reaching here revealed that a huge rush of the people had gathered nearby the counting centers to greet the newly elected office bearers of the Zila parishads and the block samitis.
