Heavy rainfall warning in Kerala till Jul 12

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Heavy rainfall (7cm to 11cm in 24 hours) is very likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala till Jul 12, according to a warning issued by the meteorological department here Saturday.

High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.4 meters are forecasted till 2330 hours of July 9 along the Kerala coast between Vizhinjam to Kasargod.

Current speeds vary between 55-80 cm/sec.

High waves in the range of 3.5 - 3.9 meters are forecasted till 11:30 pm of Jul 9 along Lakshadweep Islands between

Minicoy to Bitra. Current speeds vary between 45-75 cm/sec.

In view of heavy rains, a Yellow Alert was declared in 11 districts excluding Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.
