He should be expelled: Upset PM Modi reacts to Kailash Vijayvargiya's son's assault of official

New Delhi, July 2 (IBNS): While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kailash Vijayvargiya tried to defend his son Akash's beating of official, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave out a clear message on Tuesday that his party will not tolerate such incidents, media report said.

According to party leaders, Modi was upset with the incident and said such people should be expelled from the BJP without considering their lineage.

"The PM was very upset. He said nobody has any right to misbehave or take the party for a ride or show arrogance in public. He used a very strong statement and said that any such act is unacceptable," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy told NDTV.

The Prime Minister reportedly also said people who had welcomed Vijayvargiya's son Akash, who himself a MP from Madhya Pradesh, from jail should also be removed from the party.

Akash was caught on camera assaulting an Indore Municipal Corporation officer with a cricket bat.

The incident occurred at a time when a team of the civic body went to Ganji area in Indore to demolish a rickety building.

Akash was protesting with the locals against the corporation's move to demolish the building. He went straight to the party office after his release and was once again garlanded by supporters there.

Though he was arrested, Akash walked out of the jail after being granted bail on Sunday. He was garlanded by party workers as he walked out of the jail four days after being arrested.

He was granted bail by a special court in Bhopal on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters outside the jail, he told: "I am not guilty or embarrassed about what I did as it was in public interest... I will keep working for the betterment of the region and the public. I pray to god that I should not be given another opportunity to pick up the bat (I pray to god ki vo dobara ballebazi karne ka avsar na de)," he added.

Akash's father Kailash had said the incident was created big by media. When a reporter pestered, Akash's father told the media person, "Are you a judge?...What is your aukaat (status)".
