Hisar/UNI: Three children, including two brothers, were killed after being run over by a train engine on the Hisar-Sirsa railway track in the city, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when Ajit (8), his brother Golu (5) and Ravi (12) were crossing the tracks.

They were not expecting any train due to anti-Coronavirus lockdown during which locomotives sat idle, for quite a long time, family said.

Government Railway Police said investigation was initiated into the incident.

Earlier 16 migrant workers died after they were run over by a goods train in Maharashtra's Aurangabad.

The incident had happened when the workers were taking rest on railway tracks in the middle of their journey to their homes by walking on the tracks.
