Hardcore NDFB(S) militant gunned down in Assam

Guwahati, Aug 26 (IBNS) : A hardcore militant belonging to NDFB(S) was killed in a gun fight with the security forces in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that, following a tip-off, police and CRPF had jointly launched operation at Rungkhhwa village under Gossaigaon police station in the BTAD district on Wednesday night, where a NDFB(S) militant was killed in a fierce gun battle.

The slain militant was identified as Lachit Brahma alias Lukhwmwt and security personnel recovered one 7.62mm pistol, three rounds live ammunition, four rounds fired empty cartridges, two hand grenades and a mobile handset from the encounter place.
