Hangpan Dada memorial inaugurated at Tirap in Arunachal Pradesh

Guwahati, May 27 (IBNS): The memorial of of Martyr Havildar Hangpan Dada, Ashok Chakra (Posthomous), was inaugurated by Major General Gajinder Singh, GOC 2 Mountain Division on Saturday in Dada's native village at Borduria, Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh.

The day also marked the second martyrdom anniversary of Hangpan Dada.

Havildar Hangpan Dada made the supreme sacrifice beyond the call of duty by eliminating four hardcore terrorist on May 26, 2016 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The wreath laying was done at the memorial by GOC 2 Mountain Division, Chasen Dada (wife of Hangpan Dada), Commander 117 Mountain Brigade and local MLA of Khonsa in presence of  other dignitaries and villagers.

He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra in recognition to his act of valour and sacrifice.
