Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday lambasted the Mamata Banerjee government for "lacking accountability and being anti-constitution and rule of law".

In a series of tweets Dhankhar said, "Never contemplated governance @MamataOfficial can be so anti Constitution and Rule of Law OPACITY in place of TRANSPARENCY.'

Questioning her government's projected investment of crores of rupees, the governor asked, 'Where is projected investment of over 12.30 crores ? •Beneficiaries of Extravaganza ! Taking media snipe shots at Governor is no answer @MamataOfficial Absence of ACCOUNTABILITY breeds CORRUPTION. Why not Reveal."

He further went on to say, "Dream Merchant Statements & rosy advertisements 24/7 no panacea to the woes of people. Why HIDE and COVER UP! Skeletons would surely be out of cupboards."

The Governor asked those in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) dispensation to "awake and reflect".

"Stakeholders in governance- •AWAKE •REFLECT," he said.

Dhankhar, who has had a running feud with the Banerjee government, advised her to serve the people and follow rule of law.

"Urge @MamataOfficial Why not serve people suffering untold miseries & follow rule of law! Political violence & vendetta, rampant corruption and blatant favoritism- A SHAME."

He ended the tweets by saying, "Would surely ensure PUBLIC SERVANTS do not act as POLITICAL WORKERS. It is my CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY."

On Aug 22, Dhankhar had questioned the pandemic purchase of the state government, saying it was "getting murkier".

"PANDEMIC PURCHASE SCAM COVER UP- GETTING MURKIER," he had tweeted.

"What kind of probe it is ! Post facto ratification of massive irregularities @MamataOfficial by subordinates would be SHAM," he observed.

"IRONICAL-Those who need 2 b investigated r probing to report to those who need to be accountable! Those @MamataOfficial engaged in probe must remember," he said, making known his displeasure.
