Gunmen martyr Territorial Army soldier in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jun 6 (UNI): A Territorial Army (TA) soldier was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in this south Kashmir district, official sources said Thursday night.

They said gunmen entered the house of TA soldier Mnazoor Ahmad Beg, son of Abdul Salam Beg at Anantnag tonight.

However, before the inmates could do anything gunmen fired upon Beg from very close range with automatic weapons leaving him critically wounded.

The injured was immediately rushed to District Hospital, Anantnag, where he was declared dead.

Beg had come to celebrate Eid with family members.

A massive hunt has been launched to nab the gunmen, they said adding police has registered a case and started an investigation.
