Gunmen loot bank in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 13 (IBNS): Suspected militants looted a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Ratnipora village of Shopian district in south Kashmir, police said on Friday.

According to reports, three masked gunmen barged into the bank branch in Ratnipora and decamped with cash and also damaged the CCTV cameras

installed inside the branch.

Shpian Superintendent of Police, S Dinkar, said that the gunmen looted nearly two lakh rupees from the bank.

Soon after the incident, a massive search operation has been launched by security forces to track the culprits.

This is the second such incident in the past two days.

On Thursday, gunmen looted over five lakh rupees from a branch of the J&K Bank in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
