Puri/UNI: Four persons were injured in a clash between two groups of Nisibaunra village under the Puri Sadar police station limits over declaration of containment zone on Friday.

Police arrested ten persons and detained another five in this connection. All male members of the entire village fled apprehending police action.

According to Puri SP Akhileswar Singh the village was declared as a containment zone on Thursday as one villager tested corona positive.

When a villager went to nearby Gambhari village to his relatives house, the Gambhari villagers did not allow him to enter their village on the ground that he is from a containment village.

The villager felt offended and returned to Nisibaunra village and challenged the containment decision. He started scolding villagers.

This led to a clash among two groups in which country bombs were freely used.

Four platoons of police had been deployed in the area. The SP said the situation is under control and indicated that some more people will be arrested in connection with yesterday's violent clash.
