Goa government to offer 'Shrandhanjali' to Parrikar on March 28

Panaji, Mar 27 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that the State Government will offer 'Shrandhanjali' to former Chief Minister Late Manohar Parrikar on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference at the State Secretariat at Porvorim, near the city, he said state government would offer 'Shraddhajali' to Late Parrikar who had contributed a lot to Goa's infrastructure.


The Chief Minister said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Naik, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, among others, would participate in the meeting which would be held at Kala Academy in the city.


Dr Sawant said invitations had been sent to chief ministers of three to four states as well and they too were expected to attend the programme.


Parrikar had passed away on March 17, 2019.
