GNLA's Dy C-in-C surrenders in Meghalaya

Guwahati, Oct 7 (IBNS) : Deputy C-in-C of Meghalaya’s Garo militant group Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) laid down arms before police in East Garo Hills on Friday.

Meghalaya police said that Zen Robert Ch Marak aka Rupanto aka Toding deputy C-in-C of GNLA along with senior cadre of the outfit group Rangdat had laid down arms before East Garo Hills police at Williamnagar.

The top militant duo deposited one 9mm pistol, several rounds ammunition.

GNLA is active in Garo Hills of Meghalaya and some parts of Lower Assam.

Recently the Garo militant group had abducted nine traders from the bordering areas of Assam.
