Glorification of terrorists is unacceptable, Pak must stop cross-border infiltration: Sushma

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IBNS): In a direct snub to Pakistan, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday said that the neighbouring country should refrain itself from glorification of terrorists and stop cross-border infiltration.

In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Swaraj stated that: "Government has completely and unequivocally rejected in entirety all such actions and statements by Pakistan regarding Jammu & Kashmir, which is an integral and inalienable part of India."

This comes in the wake of the death of Hizb ul Mujahideen Commander and terrorist Burhan Wani in an encounter on July 8, 2016.

She said, "The government has stressed that glorification of terrorists is unacceptable and Pakistan must immediately stop supporting cross-border terrorism and infiltration as well as desist from making any further attempts to interfere in India’s internal affairs."

The government has reached out to other countries to counter the Pakistani propaganda by stressing the aforementioned aspects, said she.

"It has also been emphasized to our international interlocutors that Indian security forces exercised extraordinary restraint, as evident in injury to over 3780 security personnel in mob attacks during violent protests in Jammu & Kashmir," Swaraj said.

The minister also informed that the government has also put across forcefully that the people of Jammu & Kashmir are Indian citizens, and that Government is fully conscious of its responsibilities towards them.
