Garo Hills (Meghalaya), Oct 6 (IBNS): A 15-year-old girl was found beheaded and burnt in a jungle in the Garo Hills area on Sunday night, reports said. The girl had been missing for over a week in Meghalaya.

The victim’s father has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to police sources, the girl was found without clothes. Her mother, who complained against her own husband, alleged that he sexually assaulted his daughter.

The girl’s father had claimed that he took the girl to a doctor in Williamnagar town and sent her home in an auto. He returned home separately as he had some work at the market.

When the girl did not reach home for hours the father went to the police and registered a missing report. Later, the girl’s mother had filed an FIR with the police against her own husband.

After the girl's body was recovered, a second police complaint was lodged on the basis of which the father was arrested.  The body has been sent for the post mortem examination, police said.
