Present at the courtesy call were U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar.

The Indian delegates also include General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of Army Staff, Saurabh Kumar, Ambassador of India to Myanmar and officials from India.

"At the courtesy call, they cordially exchanged views on the matters pertaining to the further advancement of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation between Myanmar and India in various areas including trade and investment, connectivity, transport, energy, development projects, capacity building and people to people linkages as well as issues of mutual interest," read an official statement.

"They also discussed the possibility of joint production of COVID-19 vaccine which India is currently developing, with partner countries including Myanmar, operationalization of the Sittway Port in the early part of 2021, conducting vocational training programmes for youths in Rakhine State and exchange of visits of parliamentarians and the youths," it said.

After the call, the State Counsellor accepted a total of 3,000 vials of Remdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, donated by the Government of India to the Government of Myanmar.

During the visit of the Indian delegation to Myanmar, the Project Agreement for upgrading of Agricultural Mechanization Sub-station to promote custom hiring services under Rakhine State Development Programme was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar and the Embassy of India in Yangon and the Centre of Excellence in Software Development and Training (CESDT) in Myitkyina, Kachin State was inaugurated.
