From I Love You Talang to Argentina, Italy, Skip, Enjoy, Rajdoot, all exercise franchise in Meghalaya polls
Shillong, Feb 27 (IBNS): I Love You Talang, generally we think that the words are linked to someone falling in love, but it is not true.
Believe it or not it is a name of a person.
A youth from Meghalaya's Nartiang assembly constituency, whose name is I Love You Talang, voted on Tuesday to choose his favourite candidate in the assembly poll.
I Love You Talang had exercised his franchise at 25 Moorab Government LP School under Nartiang assembly constituency.
Not only I Love You Talang, Argentina, Indonesia, Sweden, Italy have also exercised their franchise in the assembly polls in Meghalaya.
Argentina, Indonesia, Sweden, Italy are the voters of Umniuh Tmar village under Shella assembly constituency in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district.
Not only countries names, some people of the village also have names of some states and cities like Tripura, Meghalaya, Goa, Bombay, Vellore, among others.
Umniuh Tmar village, which is close to the Indo-Bangladesh border under Pynursla block, has a population of 593.
Of which 294 are males while 299 are females, as per Population Census 2011.
The area has 861 male voters and 918 female voters.
The people of the area have also taken the names like Skip, Enjoy, Welding, Faithfull, Everyday, Rajdoot, April, July, Carefully, Dial, Circle, Sample, Credit, Study, Protein, Laid, Correction, Attention etc.
Maximum people of the area have a fondness for English and so they use English words with their names.
An interesting fact is that some candidates, who have contested in the elections, have also carried these types of funny and interesting names like Innocent, Couple, Moonlight, Hopeful, Defender, Witness Day, Comfort, Field Marshal, Process, Welborn, Councellor, Good Leaderson etc.
67% voter turnout in Meghalaya has been registered till 4pm.
