Four killed in accident in West Bengal

Raigunj/UNI: At least four persons were killed when a truck dashed against and ran over them on National Highway 34 at Bekidanga in Itahar of Malda district last night.

The incident occurred when the driver of the truck lost control and ran over the deceased, who were gossiping sitting on the divider.

Police said the bodies had been sent to Raigung Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

The deceased hailed from Paharajpur of Itahar.

Agitated over the incident an irate mob went on a rampage damaging a trailer. The driver and the helper, howeer, managed to escape.
